New Zealand defeated the England team 1-0 to seal the series and created history at Edgbaston. They will now face India in WTC Final.

New Zealand defeated the England team 1-0 to seal the series and created history at Edgbaston. They will now go into the World Test Championship final with boosting confidence against India. The New Zealand team created history by winning a Test series in England after 1999. Check the highlights of ENG vs New Zealand here.

The first test of the series was drawn as Tim Southee contributed with the ball and looked at his best in that match. However, the concern over the English batsmen's skills were under the scrutiny throughout the test match.

By the end of the first match, there was some bad news for the New Zealand fans. Kane Willamson had some elbow issues and Mitch Santner was out of the series due to a finger injury. Therefore, the New Zealand team was without the presence of their captain Kane and spinner Santner in the second test.

Tim Southee was rested as well to be fresh for the World Test Championship final scheduled from 18-22 June, 2021.

England made 303 in the first innggs as Dan Lawrence and Rory Burns both finished with 81 runs, Dan remaining not out though. Trent Boult took 4 wickets for 85 runs.

New Zealand in reply scored 388 as Will Young scored a composed 82 of 204 balls. Ross Taylor made some contribution with the bat by scoring 80 runs in 139 balls.

The second innings through did not start well for the England team as they were bundled out for just 122. This time it was Nil Wagner with 3/18 who did the maximum damage.

With needing only 42 runs for the historic series win, captain Latham made sure he stays till New Zealand makes it past the rope. New Zealand won the match with 8 wickets in hand. Matt Henry was adjudged as the man of the match for his 6/104 in the match.
