The Serbian maintains a commanding lead as world No. 1 despite exiting the Australian Open 2024 at the semi-final stage. Novak Djokovic has 9,990 ranking points. From his desire to become the first player to win all four grand slams and a gold medal in the same year to his abrupt departure from Melbourne, plenty of things have taken place. But one thing has remained constant: his ranking. Djokovic also holds the record for the oldest player ever to be ranked No. 1 in ATP or WTA rankings history.

2. Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner’s surge to the top of the ATP Rankings continued at the Miami Open presented by Itau, where the 22-year-old Italian charged to his second ATP Masters 1000 crown. He has 8,860 ATP ranking points. Having already won his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2024 and an ATP 500 in Rotterdam in Rotterdam, the Italian’s third tour-level triumph of the year has lifted him above rival Carlos Alcaraz to a career-high No. 2 ATP ranking position. Sinner dropped just one set en route to the title at Hard Rock Stadium, where he became the first Italian to claim multiple Masters 1000 trophies.

3. Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz holds the NO. 3 position in the new ATP ranking list with 7,345 points. In 2024, Alcaraz has a new record in his sights at the Mutua Madrid Open. Nobody has yet managed to string together three titles in the Spanish capital. Nadal came closest after his consecutive wins in 2013 and 2014, followed by a runner-up finish the following year. Alcaraz can win on any surface at any time. The only question marks for him right now are his body, with a few niggling injuries slowing his momentum. When he’s fit, though, he’s a physical beast and not afraid of anyone.

4. Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev’s injury absence saw him miss the Qatar Open, a title he won last year. Hence, he dropped 250 points to hold the NO. 4 position. He has a tough task ahead of him with a host of points to defend. He won the Dubai Tennis Championships and Miami Masters last year and finished runner-up at Indian Wells. While a big gap means he would not be dropping to World No.5 anytime soon, he would want to close the gap on the top 3 and get back up there.

5. Alexander Zverev

Alexander Zverev is now ranked no.5 occupying the position of German no.1 with 5435 ATP ranking points preceding Jan-Lennard Struff who has 1120 points and is ranked no. 41. Winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2022 was one of the biggest achievements of Zverev's career. The German has come close in slams several times but has not quite made it over the line - yet.

6. Andrey Rublev

Andrey Rublev jumps up two spots to No. 6 after claiming his second career ATP Masters title. Rublev won the 2024 ATP Madrid Open after beating Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. He received 1,000 ranking points for the victory. It was the second Madrid Open title for Andrey Rublev. He also won the ATP Monte Carlo Masters Open Masters 1000 title last year. He has positioned as Russian no.2 behind Daniil Medvedev who is his compatriot no.1 with 7195 points ranked no.4.

7. Casper Ruud

Casper Ruud captured the seventh position after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-5, 6-3 in the Barcelona Open final. He also became the first player (male or female) to win 30 matches this year, reaching that number with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Miomir Kecmanovic in his opening match in Madrid.

8. Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas notched the World No. 8 ranking when he managed to end up as a runner-up in the 2024 Barcelona Open. After eight weeks at No. 11 or No. 12, Tsitsipas bounced back to the Top 10 after winning his third Monte Carlo title in the last four years, having also won there in 2021 and 2022.

9. Hubert Hurkacz

Hubert Hurkacz is known across the ATP Tour for his jovial nature. But over the course of his career, the powerful Pole has turned into a smiling nightmare for opponents. The 26-year-old advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open for the second consecutive year. One of the reasons he made it to the top 10. the Pole played his last match on the 30th of April when he was defeated by world no.13 Taylor Fritz 7-6(2) 6-4 in the 4th round in Madrid (draw). Hurkacz has also achieved a compiled 23-10 match record. He conquered 1 title in Estoril.

10. Grigor Dimitrov

ATP Ranking: Top 10 Men's Tennis player in the world

Grigor Dimitrov took out three Top 10 players in a row, Hubert Hurkacz, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev to reach the final Miami Open 2024 final. Though he may not have lifted the trophy, Dimitrov’s sensational run has propelled him from No. 12 to No. 10 on the new ATP rankings, his first time in the Top 10 since the week of October 29th, 2018.
